I saw this very enticing pose of one of my favorite porn stars Jesse Ares online and I just had to use it for my next super hero pinup. I've been very intrigued by the edition of hyperion to the avengers in the new avengers books in the marvel now line. so I decided to do him in this slightly provocative pose. this was a amalgamation of styles and media were used on this one. it was drawn in ink then the figure was colored in copic markers, the character was then accented and blended in corel painter 12. the starry background was totally painted with corel painter 12. this one went really fast I did it in about 4 to 6 hours. I think it turned out pretty well how do you like it?
The combination of digital and traditional is really nicely done in this The only thing I would say is that I think some of the white is a little too soft - particularly on his chest/torso and around the fastening of his cape - and makes it look blurry in comparison to the rest of the image.
Very good job all in all, unlike others I don't dislike the background; it makes the character stand out more thanks to the clever choice of using complementary colors. I tend to like contrasts! The anatomy is very well done, the pose is pretty funny as people usually don't think of a superhero while scratching his nuts! I like your irony very much! All in all it's a very well done piece, for sure suggestive and eyecatching!
I really like the mix of media, it gives it a great texture. I really like how you did the muscles on his arms, they look realistic rather than super-bulging. The face is great, it looks like male model "hey baby" face. To me, the background looks a little distracting. Maybe less stars would look less busy.
thanks so much but it seems the general consensus is that the background was an epic phail honestly i'm not sure what I could do to it at this point to make it better, here's the funny thing a lot of people didn't like the superman background when I did it hehe.
The concept is nice, and the colors too; but I think you should add a little more blending to it. For the background, I think it would be better if it is a little more realistic, it doesn't much fit in. Anyways, this is really good. c: Keep it up! ^^
thanks for the props on the figure, but i sometimes wonder why i keep putting digital backgrounds on these. everytime i do i hear alot of negative comments on how out of place, blurry.or primitivbe it looks. i realize i'm a rank novice when it comes to digital colors but i'm really starting to think i'd be better off leaving these with blank white backgrounds
You're good with the colors and backgrounds (you have the idea of how to do them). What I can recommend you is that if you make the character traditionally, make the background traditionally too. If you make the character digitally, make the background digitally too.
I can see you're amazing at copic makers, try making the backgrounds with them or with other media (colored pencils, watercolors etc). For digitally stuff, you can use Paint Tool Sai, Photoshop or Gimp (is like photoshop but free).
Keep trying and practicing, don't stop making them. If people criticize something is to let you know you can be better next time. Keep it up!
this is actually really good! the details on his muscles/abs are very realistic well they fit the right anatomy it seems. the face is also very well done and the background is cool nd interesting. i only suggest working a lil on the background, making it more realistic style or less blurred because it seems kind of cheesy or something haha idk. and his arm in his pants, the thumb may not be placed right because you can't tell whether or not the hand is facing towards or away from you. you seem to have a really good sense of anatomy because it's perfect, nd i really like the shading on the cape. overall its really good
