Booster an Beatle Best Buds

here's some good ole fashioned fun with two very cool characters booster gold and blue beatle. i'm very proud of this piece for two reasons . one it was drawn without any references it came all out of my mind, if you notice i do use references for many of my works , something i try to get away from when i can. so they're may be some anatomical flaws here but i think over all it looks ok. secondly this was done with my new warm grey prisma color markers i didn't realize that prisma color markers came in warm and cool grey's i think they've really added a whole new dimension to my work.
the first draft of this was drawn in the break room at my job at lunch, it's always interesting for me to get the "man on the street"opinion of my work from the lay person. "i got alotta "what the heck are they doing" from several folks. meaning they felt this piece has alot of gay over tones to it. and maybe it does to a small degree but i think it's sad in this day and age that any kind of physical affection between two men is automatically viewed that way. granted this is a little over the top but to me it kind of embraces that time when you were young and had that best friend you just loved and was crazy about. there dosn't have to be anything sexual in loving your friend. but maybe that's our own fault for gay people comming more into the main stream it has made people more leery of that kind of thing.
hehe ok off my soap box but i think this work is fun and i enjoyed it, it also breaks my running streak of angery characters i've been drawing alot of those latly.
